The Compass Station is our onsite resource center for our Guests. With that being said, we have many different services and resources offered at The Compass Station. A few resources to highlight are PATH, Family Health Centers, and We See You San Diego. While these are only a few of our resource providers, it’s important to highlight what they do in relation to Shoreline Community Services and our mission to provide resources and services to our most vulnerable neighbors.
PATH San Diego is an organization with the focus of ending homelessness for individuals, families, and communities. This organization started in small ways, such as distributing food and clothing to people living on the street. Since then, PATH has become a nationwide organization assisting our unhoused population. In relation to Shoreline Community Services, PATH San Diego offers affordable housing and has supportive services at select locations, along with offering other housing options and assistance. PATH is a resource provider that we can connect our guests with for housing assistance, California state aid, and specialty Veteran services as well.
Family Health Centers are also an important aspect of what we do at Shoreline Community Services. While the nearest one to the Compass Station is Beach Area Family Health Center, highlighting the FHCSD mission is extremely important. Family Health Centers of San Diego’s mission is to provide caring, affordable, high-quality health care and supportive services to everyone, with a special commitment to uninsured, low-income and medically underserved persons. FHCSD is a service provider that allows us to connect Guests with healthcare that they may not have known about while living on the street. The connection to healthcare services is essential for transitioning from being unhoused, it is someplace where guests can get help with healthcare needs that have been unmet or disregarded due to their situation.
We See You San Diego has a goal to see lives transformed among the homeless and addicted in San Diego. This organization hosts weekly dinner parties for people who are dealing with addiction or homelessness. This dinner party is a step towards working with We See You San Diego and getting the assistance needed to address issues of addiction. Shoreline Community Services is able to connect individuals with this organization in hopes that they will be able to fit the needs of our Guests and help transform their lives.
These resource providers are only some of the many we work with, as we have a goal to connect all of our Guests with providers who will help with their transition off the street. Each and every resource provider connected to Shoreline Community Services is extremely important – the connections made with the different organizations truly makes a difference in the lives of our Guests. We feel incredibly grateful to help connect individuals to the services they need.
We want to ensure the most vulnerable are cared for with compassion and equity through the efforts of Community Members and Community Partners.
